Yes, it’s legal: Cannabidiol kiosk opening at Kenwood Mall

It’s not unusual for a new kiosk to pop up at the Kenwood Mall, but the one that opens Wednesday will be the first of its kind.

All of the products loaded in the back of kiosk owner Jason Friedman’s car contain CBD oil, and starting Wednesday, you’ll be able to buy them at the Kenwood Towne Centre.

“We have edibles in our energy chews that not only have CBD but 100 milligrams of caffeine,” said Friedman.

Products range from skin care to dog treats and edibles to essential oils.

“Cannabidiol, CBD, is the non-psychoactive component in the cannabis family of plants. Like you said, most people think of marijuana. But in fact, CBD does not make you high,” said Friedman.

Friedman said the oil helps you sleep or wake up, depending on what you take, as well as calm your nerves and more. The Kenwood Towne Centre, known for its high-end stores and dining options, will be the first in the Cincinnati area to have a kiosk like this.

“We’re also going to stock the Queen City Hemp product, which is a local product here in Cincinnati, and we’ll be selling their oils and their cartridges as well,” said Friedman.

If you’re wondering how this is legal, it’s because this CBD oil is made from hemp, which is legal in Ohio. The version made from marijuana is not.

“So when CBD is extracted from the hemp plant, it can be combined and put into all sorts of products for health benefits,” said Friedman.
