The world’s first cannabis oil hotel has been launched by a Thailand cave diver in Colchester, Essex. Cannabis Oil hotel which is the first of its kind in the world is owned by British diver, Tim Acton. Speaking at the launch of the hotel, Acton explained that they faced numerous challenges and setbacks while building the cannabis oil shop and hotel.
Acton, who also owns another hotel in Thailand, was part of the team that rescued a youth football team that had been trapped underground for 18 days. The incident occurred in the Tham Luang Nang Non cave last summer. Acton’s Cannabis shop and hotel in Colchester, Essex is expected to promote the use of cannabis oil. The foods and drinks served at the hotel all contain the oil. According to the management, the Cannabis oil hotel which is known as Green Coffee Lab and Leafy Hotel has available on its menu cakes, tea, rum, coffee, beer, and gin containing cannabidiol (CBD).
Guests can place orders for these items at any time.CBD is gotten from the marijuana plant and is a non-psychoactive chemical compound. Products that contain CBD are said to be suitable for use by consumers as long as they do not have a large amount of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) in them. Tetrahydrocannabinol is the major cause of intoxication for cannabis users. If the product, however, has only a small amount of this compound, it is safe for use.
The cannabis oil hotel is an eight-bed boutique hotel that has its shampoo infused with CBD oil. Guests at the hotel are given the specially formulated shampoo that contains cannabis oil and according to reports, the Green Coffee Lab and Leafy Hotel is the first hotel to offer its guests this kind of shampoo. The light fittings in the hotel are also made using hemp.
“We have been told that this is the only hotel in the world dedicated to CBD and it’s not been easy,” Acton said. The CEO added that there are a number of “misconceptions” about cannabis oil and that is why he desires to enlighten as many people as possible on the subject.
“The industry is quite new and working in it in the UK is difficult. However, it is moving at a fast pace and there are challenges that we have to deal with,” Acton said. Acton and his business partner Greg Land has been managing a CBD company Canna CBD for more than three years. Speaking on how people see CBD, Land said:
“I think CBD is more accessible today in terms of the stigma that the product had in the past…… Most people are of the opinion that cannabis is bad and unhealthy but it is not. It is only a plant and depending on how it is used, it can be beneficial to
the users.”
Acton revealed that he has seen first hand the powerful effect that cannabis oil can have on users. Citing his father as an example, the commercial diver said that his father suffered “terribly” from arthritis. Acton said that after his father used cannabis oil for a couple of weeks, he came alive again. “He was bouncing around like a teenager,” he stated. Rooms at the new cannabis oil hotel go for £80 and £125 per night.
