Nottingham bar introduces ‘cannabis’ cocktail – restricted to two per person – Nottinghamshire Live

A Nottingham bar is launching its first cocktail made from a cannabis derived chemical.

The non-alcoholic drink, called Mellow Mood, will go on sale at MOJO next month. It will be limited to two per person and the bar owners say driving afterwards is not recommended.

Made from apple, pineapple, lime, agave and a “little dash of magic,” the bar describes it as “a unique and wonderful non-alcoholic alternative.”

The “magic” ingredient will be cannabidol (CBD) oil, a type of cannabinoid, which are the chemicals naturally found in marijuana plants. CBD, also known as ‘cannabis oil’, is legal in the UK.

Drinkers won’t be getting high as that’s caused by another cannabinoid, known as THC.

But scientific studies have shown that CBD oil is helpful in easing the symptoms of ailments such as chronic pain and anxiety.

Mellow Mood will go on sale on February 3 at the bar in Thurland Street.
