Olivia Newton-John is currently fighting cancer for a third time after opening up about her secret battle with the disease in 2013, earlier this week.

And on Sunday, the Grease icon, 69, dazzled in green as she led participants at her annual wellness walk and run in Melbourne to raise funds for her cancer research centre.

Donning a striking emerald rain coat, Olivia beamed while addressing the assembled audience who converged in the city’s CBD for the organised event.

Last week, the 69-year-old superstar made the emotional revelation that she secretly battled the disease in 2013 during in an interview with Channel Seven’s¬†Sunday Night.

Explaining why she chose not to go public with the diagnosis at the time, she told the program: ‘I thought ‘It’s my life’ and I just decided to keep it to myself’.

In early 2013, Olivia was involved in a minor car accident, and a lump appeared in her right shoulder.

She told Sunday Night she initially believed it was a due to the strain of her seat belt, before scans revealed it was the return of the breast cancer she had beaten two decades earlier in 1992.    

While Olivia beat her second bout of cancer, she is now battling the disease again, with a tumour last year found at the base of her spine.

And the Australian actress and singer has remained positive, upbeat, and resilient in the face of adversity.

Appearing on Channel Seven’s Sunrise on Tuesday, Olivia refused to call her journey a ‘battle’ and insisted she would ‘win over it again’.¬†¬†¬†

The legend interrupted host Samantha Armytage during the chat to express her dislike of the terminology surrounding cancer and its treatment.

‘I don’t like to say “battled”, I like to say “win over”. Battle sets up this anger and inflammation that you don’t want. I’m going to win over it again,’ she said.
