Live Updates

Josh Taylor v Ivan Baranchyk | Round 11

More nice work from Taylor, but that is probably the least eventful round we’ve had in this fight – with both men tiring.

Josh Taylor v Ivan Baranchyk | Round 10

Taylor is really starting to pick Baranchyk apart here, he is on him all the time with his combinations finding a target.

Baranchyk is still standing and swinging, however, he hasn’t given up yet.

Josh Taylor v Ivan Baranchyk | Round 9

Taylor must be careful not to let Baranchyk into this fight; but his slick combinations are ensuring that isn’t happening yet.

Josh Taylor v Ivan Baranchyk | Round 8

Baranchyk is suddenly looking very tired in there now, throwing bursts every now and again but they are lacking the snap they had in the earlier rounds.

If Taylor can navigate his way through these final rounds, we will have a new champion.

Josh Taylor v Ivan Baranchyk | Round 7

Baranchyk comes out strongly but Taylor is now the much more measured of the two, reading his shots cleverly and moving away from danger.

Baranchyk is moving a little heavier out there now, Taylor has definitely done some damage.

Josh Taylor v Ivan Baranchyk | Round 6

Taylor catches his opponent with a nice body shot but Baranchyk shakes his head and comes straight back at him.

Taylor keeps his concentration however and drops Baranchyk with a clever left, just as his opponent was loading up.

He keeps the pressure and another stiff barrage knocks the champion down again in the final seconds of the round! Huge round for Taylor.

Josh Taylor v Ivan Baranchyk | Round 5

These two are starting to let their hands go and Baranchyk is probably landing the more telling shots, ripping through with some vicious uppercuts.

Taylor has a cut above his eye and there appears to be a bit of blood dropping from his nose. He caught the worst of that exchange.

Josh Taylor v Ivan Baranchyk | Round 3

Another tight round; but one of real quality. Baranchyk again looks to be the aggressor but maintains control in there, with Taylor unable to catch him out.

Josh Taylor v Ivan Baranchyk | Round 2

A better round from Taylor who prevents Baranchyk stepping in as often as he did in the first.

Josh Taylor v Ivan Baranchyk | Round 1

Baranchyk goes from big swings early on but Taylor is doing well to evade most of them. Not much to separate the two in the early stages, but it has been far from cagey.

Here we go! Josh Taylor’s first shot at world title gold is underway.

Not long to wait now for our next big fight; Josh Taylor is up next.

What a display from Inoue. The power he possesses as a bantamweight is frightening.

Inoue wins by TKO in the second round!

Devastating from Inoue! He lands a perfect left upstairs that sends Rodriguez to the mat.

The champion bravely gets to his feet but Inoue comes straight back in to drop him again with a shuddering body shot.

Inoue vs Rodriguez | Round 1

A fiesty opener with both man landing shots from the off. Inoue connects with the classier, cleaner punches, but Rodriguez is looking sharp, too.

And we are underway!

Maybe the best kept secret in boxing? If you are tuning into watch Naoya Inoue for the first time tonight; you are in for a treat.

Here we go; it’s time for ‘The Monster’.

IBF champion Emmanuel Rodriguez is making his way down to the ring.

Taylor’s secret to success

This week, Josh Taylor revealed how he stays calm during fight week – cannabis oil.

“I’m sleeping like a baby, which is probably down to the preparations.

“I’m settled in London, I’m not living out of a suitcase in a hotel but with my girlfriend and dog in the flat.

“I’m relaxed, focused and super confident. I can’t wait. I’m taking this CBD oil, so maybe that’s why I am so relaxed. Maybe that’s why I’m so chilled out.

“Joking aside, it does help me relax and focus. I’ve always had trouble sleeping at night, being a bit hyper and going over things, but the last few camps I’ve taken that stuff and it’s really helped me.

“I’m also happier and more settled down south. I can go back to the flat after my sessions in the gym, rather than just hanging about.

“I can walk the dog, go for something to eat, go and have a sleep. I think that’s a key factor.”

Inoue targeting another knockout

Anyone who watched ‘The Monster’ dismantle Juan Carlos Payano inside 70 seconds late last year will be eagerly awaiting another masterpiece from the Japanese powerhouse tonight.

And he has promised to deliver a similar result.

“My aim is always a KO,” Inoue said during fight week. “I came to Scotland to win and move to the final, proving I am the best bantamweight in the world.”
