Just over two years ago the National Football League admitted that there was a connection between Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy or CTE and playing football.
Now a former NFL player is touring the country trying to do something about it.
Nick Lowery played for the Kansas City Chiefs and says he has lost friends to the disease.
Lowery was in Bismarck over the weekend talking to people about CBD oil products and how it can help people with the disease.
“There’s no reason with America’s greatest game, the best thing that ever happened to me the National Football League that we can’t stand up to an issue, face it as men and women. Responsibly do the right thing and help get us out of this era of concussions. CBD is going to be a big part of that,” said Lowery.
Last year an opinion from the Drug Enforcement Agency listed C-B-D as schedule one drug.
However according to the state’s Medical Marijuana Program C-B-D oil is allowed in the state but only as part of the program.
Registered patients and designated caregivers will be able to purchase C-B-D products but only through dispensaries registered with the Medical Marijuana Program.
