Police are investigating a CBD store break-in that resulted in a theft of over $10,000 in products in southwest Oklahoma City.
Late Tuesday, July 24, or early on Wednesday, July 25, someone broke into Wild Woman Wellness, 708 Mustang Road, a new business that opened in June and sells CBD oil products near SW 15 south of Interstate 40.Â
Owner Megan Dedmon said she had just finished restocking the shelves recently and burglars hit “at the perfect time,” she said. She also lost cash from the drawer, hemp honey and loose leaf tea in the burglary. Cameras had not been set up yet for surveillance. She said the business was insured, and she’s hoping most of the loss is covered.
“They were able to get in and get out and take about 90 percent of what I had,” Dedmon said.
Dedmon said she is installing new security equipment. She said she thinks criminals may target CBD stores thinking there is cannabis with high levels of THC on the premises, but that is not the case, she said. All products in her store have the current legal amounts, .03 percent of THC or lower, she said.
Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers (405) 235-7300.
