CBD products expected to hit Wichita area Dillons stores next week – KWCH

WICHITA, Kan. (CNBC) The Kroger Co. is joining the growing list of retailers selling CBD products.

In a statement to CNBC Tuesday, Kroger announced they will be selling hemp-derived CBD topical products, including creams, balms and oils, in 945 stores across 17 states. The company confirmed Kansas is one of those states.

Dillons Corporate Affairs’ Sheila Lowrie said the products are expected to hit Wichita area Dillons stores next week.

“Like many retailers, we will be offering our customers a highly-curated selection of topical products like lotions, balms, oils and creams that are infused with hemp-derived CBD,” Lowrie said. “CBD is a naturally-occurring and non-intoxicating compound that has promising benefits and is permitted within federal and state regulations. Our limited selection of hemp-derived CBD topical products is from suppliers that have been reviewed for quality and safety.”

Lowrie said the CBD products will be sold in select larger and medium-sized stores (includes Pickup) and on Vitacost.com or Ship.Dillons.com.

CBD sales will be limited to beauty and skin-care products because the FDA does not allow stores to add CBD to food or sell it as a dietary supplement.

Kroger will sell the CBD products in Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Nevada, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, West Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin and Wyoming.
