If you or a loved one suffer from the incurable condition of diabetes, you have probably looked into every possible solution for feeling better. Have you ever considered CBD and diabetes? Believe it or not, this miracle plant just may be able to offer positive effects to benefit diabetes patients too!
It’s no surprise now that CBD can help alleviate a wide variety of ailments and symptoms. This extract has received quite a bit of international attention in recent years for the many benefits it touts. People have reported experiencing relief from a huge range of diseases and conditions, from Alzheimer’s to chronic pain to epilepsy and more.
And now diabetes just might be included in that list, too. Of course, it’s important that we give scientists time to conduct further research before we draw any conclusions or make bold claims about the power of CBD. Still, the horizon looks promising, and we are likely to see more and more exciting information develop in the world of CBD.
Curious about some of the effects and purported benefits of taking CBD? Curious about this powerful plant compound? Wondering how CBD might be able to affect a condition like diabetes?
We’ll cover it all in this article. Read on to learn more!
Wondering some of the general benefits that CBD has to offer? Even people who do not suffer from some sort of illness or health condition can benefit from CBD.
Everyone wants to feel good, live pain free, and nourish their bodies and brains! CBD is a great way to do that in many cases. In this section, we’ll cover some of the positive effects that CBD can provide to anyone and everyone.
Of course, these special abilities can greatly assist in cases like diabetes or when someone does have a true health condition that they desire relief from.
Did you know that CBD is a great anti inflammatory solution? It’s true — athletes, chronic pain patients, and arthritis sufferers alike all turn to CBD for help with this very issue.
A large part of pain is due to inflamed nerves. White blood cells replicate in extra amounts to fight off disease, infection, and other potentially harmful invaders. This is an important feature of our bodies and it helps to keep us alive and well. However, when our bodies produce too many white blood cells for whatever reason, the buildup can cause inflammation.
Inflammation, in turn, can have a whole host of unfortunate side effects. Pain is one of them. Inflammation is behind many unpleasant diseases, including chronic pain, arthritis, and more. But with a little help from CBD, inflammation and swelling can go down, thereby providing relief to those suffering from pain and inflammation.
Ridding your body of inflammation can also in turn reduce other symptoms like swelling, pain, rashes on the skin, infections, and many other issues.
Many diabetes patients experience other painful side effects of their disease, and CBD may be able to provide relief for those issues as well.
Another interesting ability that CBD offers is that it acts as a neuro protectant. In other words, it may be able to help nourish, protect, and sustain the brain.
How does this work, you ask? Well, in recent decades, scientists discovered the existence of a body system called the endo cannabinoid system. This system is part of our central nervous system and it actually produces cannabinoids of its own. These are the same chemicals that people find in abundance in the cannabis family of plants.
What do these cannabinoids do for you? They can help to stabilize your emotions, health, and mood, in addition to keeping your brain functioning smoothly.
Thus, supplementing your body with additional cannabinoids through the use of cannabis and cannabis products like CBD may actually be good for you.
Using CBD products and supplying your body with additional cannabinoids may actually be a positive addition to your health care routine.
In the end, CBD can also just help you feel better in general.
If CBD can provide a bit of relief to the anxiety, depression, and malaise that people with a chronic illness like diabetes may experience, then it’s certainly worth a shot.
Of course, you should not consider CBD to be a treatment or cure for anxiety or depression. In addition, you should not try to replace any medication you currently take for these conditions with CBD. Make sure to run any changes to your regimen by your doctor first, even if you simply want to give CBD a try.
Still, many people report that CBD simply helps them to feel more at ease. And if this powerful plant extract can provide a bit of a better mood or a lighter heart to you throughout your day, despite everything else that may be going on — why not give it a try?
One of the main factors of diabetes is the way that it affects blood sugar levels. And your blood sugar levels have a lot to do with what you eat and when you eat it. However, at times, appetite and food consumption can be a dreadful subject.
For some people, having CBD available to stimulate their appetite could be a game changer. Diabetes patients must check their insulin levels throughout the day and ensure that they are receiving proper nutrition. In addition, they must make sure to keep their nutrient and chemical levels balanced and under control.
CBD may be able to help with this. It provides many interesting benefits to the digestive system and people’s eating habits. Even cancer patients turn to CBD and other marijuana products to ease the nausea they experience when undergoing chemo therapy and radiation.
If you suffer from diabetes and it also affects your appetite, eating habits, and general feeling of wellness when it comes to tummy issues, CBD just might be able to help out.
As far back as 2015, a diabetes organization based in the UK published an article about CBD and diabetes. This article focused on the researched completed by a group of Israeli scientists.
These scientists aimed to find a connection between CBD and diabetes. Of course, the hope is that using CBD may be able to help treat the unfortunate illness of diabetes.
The article states,
“A chemical compound from the cannabis plant, known as cannabidiol, could be used to treat diabetes, according to Israeli scientists.
Researchers at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, led by Dr. Raphael Mechoulam, who is known for discovering cannabidol (CBD), observed CBD receptors in other bodily tissues. The findings suggest that the therapeutic effects of CBD, a non-psychoactive compound, could be modified to fit different receptors. Different illness such as diabetes, atherosclerosis and cardiovascular disease could therefore be treated.
A study was conducted on rats with infarcts (areas of dead tissue) due to a failure of blood supply. When pretreated with CBD, these infarcts were 30 per cent smaller.
In addition, the immune system, cell growth, sugar metabolism and heart function all also appear to prospectively benefit from CBD’s anti inflammatory properties.
ISA Scientific, an Israeli company, recently signed a worldwide collaboration and licensing deal to establish therapies containing CBD.
In a statement, ISA Scientific Chief Executive Officer Mark J. Rosenfeld said: ‘The licensing agreement is very well timed because our Phase 1 clinical trials on dosing and safety are now underway in Israel, and arrangements for Phase 2 trials on treating diabetes and chronic pain are in process. Unlike insulin and other existing medications for diabetes, CBD may actually suppress, reverse and perhaps cure the disease.’”
This is great news for anyone and everyone who is affected by diabetes. If CBD is able to “suppress, reverse, or cure” diabetes, this would be life changing for millions of people.
We are looking forward to hearing more news about CBD as scientists look further into the possibilities! We are hopeful to see a cure for diabetes and many other conditions someday soon. And we fully expect that CBD will likely be part of this charge.
It’s important to remember that there are several different types and stages of diabetes. Type 1 patients have a different experience than Type 2 patients, and pre diabetic patients have another experience still.
So how can CBD help Type 1 diabetes, specifically?
According to The Diabetes Council,
“Researchers demonstrated the potential of (CBD) to reduce the occurrence and delay the onset of Type 1 diabetes.
It was found that CBD exhibits anti auto immune abilities. Even though some non-specific immunosuppression medication have shown to be successful in preventing diabetes, they are not an ideal alternative. Suppressing the immune system in a general fashion for an extended amount of time would present a dangerous treatment.
Moreover, these drugs indicated to be working only temporarily in the clinic until resistance was acquired. The marijuana and diabetes research is a lot more promising.
CBD has [been] found to reduce the inflammation of pancreatic cells and THCV has shown to improve glucose tolerance and increase insulin sensitivity for type 1 diabetic individuals so that there is a possibility that less insulin is needed for the management and the fluctuation of the blood glucose level is more manageable.
To confirm these findings, another research was conducted in 2012 where obese rats lost significant weight and experienced an increase in pancreas weight after exposure to organic Cannabis extract. The increase in the weight of the pancreas indicates that the insulin production pancreatic cells (known as beta cells) are protected by the presence of cannabinoids in type 1 diabetes.
For many type 1 diabetes patients, stress and anxiety are a common problem that can aggravate the blood glucose level fluctuation.
[CBD] can help make stress much more manageable while boosting the overall energy level.”
This is very encouraging news for anyone affected by Type 1 diabetes. If CBD has the potential to someday be able to cure this illness entirely, there will be millions around the world who rejoice at the news.
In addition, CBD is a much less expensive alternative to many treatment routes. After all, it comes from a plant that you can grow yourself! With CBD at the helm of research and potential disease treatment and cure, we are sure to see a major shift in the health care and pharmaceutical industry.
Wondering where to get CBD? Because it does not contain THC and therefore is not a psycho active substance, CBD is legal and available in most places.
Still, many people don’t want to go through the trouble of finding CBD and securing it for themselves. The easiest solution is simply to order CBD online.
