A Helping Hand for Ladies Health – Steamboat Magazine

By Alesha Damerville

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS – It shows up whether we’re ready or not and, although we may not like the way it feels, we’re often grateful for its arrival. It’s messy, painful and expensive and it has the ability to destroy some of our favorite items.

You guessed it. We’re talking about periods in this post.

When discussing women’s health, a number of directions can be taken, from what products to use to lesser-known solutions for surviving this monthly visitor. I’m taking the direction of pain relief.

Let’s start with a little background. I am 35 years old, and have dealt with insanely painful cramps since I was a teenager. Through the aid of ibuprofen, pain pills, essential oils, heating pads and laying in the fetal position, I can get by. I never want to take pain pills but, unfortunately, it’s not standard that women get the first two days of their periods off work (although it should be).

If I’m expected to be a functioning member of society during those first two days, I have to find a way to make the pain subside. Luckily for me, some months are better than others.

This month wasn’t one of those months. I woke up a few days ago and slowly felt my body fall deeper and deeper into agonizing pain. These could have very well been the worse cramps I’ve ever had. It was day one, and I was moaning in pain, bent over, needing tampons but unable to drive. My boyfriend drove me – he had offered to go for me, but I declined. I was stubborn, grumpy and afraid he’d get the wrong kind. I only buy organic – if you don’t, consider changing that immediately, because the popular brands are made with toxins – but I digress, that’s a conversation for another time.

I could barely walk through the store, but I did and made it home to the couch. I had no pain pills apart from ibuprofen, which I dislike taking. As I lay there thinking about it, I remembered that I recently got my hands on a few locally made CBD products by Lost Range CBD while visiting Wild Plum Grocer.

I started with the Lost Range Full Spectrum Tincture, then used the CBD Roller, followed by the Muscle and Joint Rub.

The tincture came with a dose reference card with suggested use information for both humans and pets. “The dosage chart was created from a practical and financial perspective so that people aren’t misled to use more than they need to,” says Matson Tew from Lost Range CBD.

I started with small doses of tincture. It suggested starting with 0.5 -0.75 ml, and being that I was in terrible pain, I took 0.75 ml, followed by another 0.75 ml an hour later. The 1.50 ml combined with the roller and rub completely alleviated my pain. I wasn’t even slightly uncomfortable after products began to take effect. After around five hours I felt the pain making its way through my body once again and took another 1 ml, totaling 2.50 ml for the day. This is about five times higher a dosage than suggested, but it’s what worked for me.

It just so happens that Lost Range CBD’s medical director’s wife is an OBGYN in North Carolina. She readily prescribes her patients for similar issues including sacral pain.

I’d also like to mention that I slept really well that evening. It’s notable because I rarely get a good night’s sleep. Keep an eye out more to come on this later.

If you are considering this form of treatment for yourself, I recommend you trust Lost Range CBD to do the job. There are other CBD companies out there, and I’ve tried several, but nothing has compared to the results I’ve found when using Lost Range CBD products. I think you’ll be impressed; I know I am. Remember to start small and follow the dosage. It won’t take long to find what works best for you.
